The important phases of physiotherapy for someone who wants to go for arthroscopy include:

  • Early Post-Operative Period

This is within the first few weeks after arthroscopy. The physiotherapist helps to minimize inflammation, decrease swelling, regain range of motion and strength. He also helps to restore full weight-bearing as well as full motion.

  • Repair and Remodeling Phases

This is the intermediate stage of recovery, improving gait, enhancing quadriceps strength and core strength. Activities are also gradually introduced.
